Verrill Public Relations has been chosen to advise the UK’s ice cream industry on social media strategy.

VPR will be providing seminars at the annual expo of The Ice Cream Alliance – the trade body for the UK’s £1bn ice cream industry.

The Expo, which takes place at the Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate on February 18 to 20, attracts companies and visitors from across the world.

Steve Verrill, Managing Director of VPR, said:”The Ice Cream Expo is the largest event of its kind in the UK and we are looking forward to providing an insight into how businesses can maximise the power of social media marketing.

“Social media has presented businesses with a fantastic marketing tool – the trick is in being able to use it to full effect.

“An effective social media campaign can allow a business to strengthen its relationships with existing customers while at the same time reach thousands of new people, all of whom are potential prospects.

“Social media can be used to drive traffic to a website, market a specific product or service or  increase  brand awareness.

“Businesses have rarely had such a cost effective opportunity to reach out to their marketplace and engage with their audience.”

The Ice Cream Alliance Chief Executive Officer, Zelica Carr, said: “Social media marketing provides a wonderful opportunity for the ice cream industry to engage with its customers and these seminars will help our members to make sure their campaigns are effective and are driving results.”
